The 13,000 m2 building features an urban farm rooftop, anacre farm & eatery, a cinema and several (independent) retailers.🌱 TheLiving Buildingsframework asks that a building operates as effectively as a flower – receiving its energy needs from the sun, using and circulating water, producing no waste or toxicity, all while looking beautiful.🌱 PVC has been scrapped from the build entirely in favour of less toxic alternatives such as reclaimed hardwood.🌱 The rooftop greenhouse grows a variety of fruit, herbs and veggies & retailers had to meet strict standards.🌱 Learnings are shared in a ‘Greensheet'- a comprehensive building materials database of products vetted & used at Burwood Brickworks.Amazing work!PreviousNext
